Writers Guild of America East leaders have arrived in Los Angeles to review the counter-offer from the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. The WGA and the AMPTP are scheduled to meet on August 15. The talks have become more serious, as indicated by the presence of the eastern branch leaders in LA. While there is a sense of progress, there are few details known about the counter-proposal. Members of the WGA remain cautiously hopeful. SAG-AFTRA, Hollywood’s largest union, is still on strike and has not returned to negotiations.
