In the fourth episode of HBO’s The Idol, titled “Stars Belong to the World,” the true cost of being a part of Tedros’ cult-like community is revealed. Xander is tortured for his perceived lack of devotion to Jocelyn, resulting in his mental and physical breakdown. The episode also sheds light on Tedros’ abusive behavior, including using electrocution and sexual acts to extract music from Jocelyn. Dee, Jocelyn’s manager, uncovers Tedros’ criminal past and tries to warn Jocelyn, but she remains loyal to him. Jocelyn’s relationship with Tedros is tested when her ex-boyfriend, Rob, enters the picture, causing jealousy and tension among them.
