The iconic “BRAAAM” sound cue from the trailer of Christopher Nolan’s film Inception became a hallmark of modern movie marketing. Both Hans Zimmer and Mike Zarin claimed involvement in creating the sound, using various techniques such as piano, church acoustics, subway sounds, and elements from The Dark Knight score. Composer Zack Hemsey further developed the cue in the film’s final trailer. There are conflicting narratives about its origin, with Zimmer taking credit for its creation, Zarin challenging his claims, and Hemsey remaining relatively tight-lipped. The “BRAAAM” cue has since become a staple in marketing campaigns for large-scale blockbusters.
