Having concluded negotiations, Hollywood’s top companies and the Writers Guild of America will continue meeting after the studios presented a counter-offer. The WGA negotiating committee confirmed that the studios had responded to their proposals in all work areas. They also thanked members for their support and warned them of rumors from third parties. The two sides had several meetings throughout the week, with the AMPTP offering a response to the guild’s counter-offer on Friday. Management-side sources feel talks are progressing, while the union remains relatively silent. The strike, now in its 109th day, has halted U.S. production.
