Blue Beetle, set to release on August 18, 2023, is the first Latino-led superhero movie in the DC Universe. It stars Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes, a recent college graduate who becomes the superhero Blue Beetle after being chosen as the host for an ancient relic called the Scarab. The film follows Jaime as he navigates his newfound powers and faces off against villains Victoria Kord and Conrad Carapax. The cast includes Susan Sarandon as Victoria Kord, Becky G as the voice of the Scarab, and Bruna Marquezine as Jaime’s romantic interest. Blue Beetle will also receive an IMAX release.
