Rob Young, a Canadian sound mixer with a 40-year career in the industry, has passed away at the age of 76. He was nominated for an Oscar for his work on “Unforgiven” and received BAFTA nominations for “Unforgiven” and “Romeo + Juliet.” Young’s extensive resume also included films such as “Jumanji,” “Night at the Museum,” and “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.” After retiring, he spent his time in the south of France, pursuing his interests in writing, cooking, and traveling. A celebration of his life will be held on July 23 in North Vancouver.
