“Nimona,” a long-awaited animated film adaptation of ND Stevenson’s novel, is finally being released after facing several delays. The film follows the story of Ballister Boldheart, a villain who is framed for a crime he didn’t commit, and Nimona, a mischievous shape-shifter who decides to help him clear his name. The film features Chloë Grace Moretz as Nimona, Riz Ahmed as Ballister Boldheart, Eugene Lee Yang as Ambrosius Goldenloin, Frances Conroy as The Director, Beck Bennett as Sir Thoddeus Sureblade, and Lorraine Toussaint as The Queen. After facing production and distribution challenges, “Nimona” was acquired by Annapurna Pictures and will be released on Netflix on June 30th.
