Warner Bros. Discovery has reversed their decision to categorize filmmakers as “creators” after facing backlash from directors and writers. The company has acknowledged the mistake and attributed it to a technical oversight. The Directors Guild of America (DGA) President Lesli Linka Glatter criticized the move, stating that it devalues the individual contributions of artists and vowed to take strong actions alongside the Writers Guild of America (WGA) to ensure proper credit for every artist. It took Warner Bros. Discovery over a month to rectify the issue, with thousands of films, TV shows, and specials needing to be reviewed.
