A new exhibition about “trash filmmaker” John Waters and a screening series featuring Agnès Varda and Fleischer cartoon shorts will be showcased at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. The museum will celebrate its second anniversary by offering free admission on Saturday, Sept. 30. Amy Homma, Chief Audience Officer of the Academy Museum, stated that the fall programs aim to provide immersive and dynamic stories of movie-making for visitors of all ages and abilities. The exhibition on John Waters will include rare screenings and a Drag Queen Story Hour. The film screening series will feature works by Ozu, Varda, Morricone, and Italian cinema.
