This review was written during the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Without the labor of the writers and actors currently on strike, the series being covered here wouldn’t exist. The Apple TV+ series Invasion is not only not one of those shows, but is one that reinvents itself in its second season. Season 2 picks up months later with the world now consumed by an alien invasion. The season explores various narratives and introduces new tonal territory. The story’s heart lies in Mitsuki’s story, offering deeper connections to the aliens. Despite some standard elements, Season 2 is a significant step up in storytelling.
