Disney’s “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” is facing uncertainty at the box office as it tries to make a comeback. The fifth film in the adventure franchise is expected to have a modest opening weekend of around $60 million. The movie, which is the first in the series not directed by Steven Spielberg or with a story by George Lucas, had a Thursday preview gross of $7.2 million and a first-day gross of $24 million. Projections also suggest an opening weekend of $55 million. The film has a budget of $295 million and is touted as Harrison Ford’s final adventure as the iconic character. “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” the fourth installment in the series, had a better opening weekend and made $100 million in its four-day opening weekend. “Dial of Destiny” currently aims for an $85 million haul over the extended weekend.
