Daniel Kaluuya, known for his roles in blockbuster films such as Get Out and Black Panther, is set to make his directorial debut with the dystopian drama The Kitchen. The film, set in a future London where social housing no longer exists and the rich-poor divide is extreme, offers a fresh and cinematic allegory. Kaluuya co-directed the film alongside Kibwe Tavares, and also co-wrote the screenplay with Joe Murtagh. The Kitchen will premiere at the BFI London Film Festival before its release on Netflix. The film stars Kane Robinson and Jedaiah Bannerman and explores the protagonist’s efforts to escape poverty.
