After at least five months of deliberations, Paramount Global has decided against selling a majority stake in its BET Media Group, including the BET channel, streamer BET+, VH1, and BET Studios. This comes after expressions of interest from Tyler Perry, Byron Allen, and others. Paramount has been looking to slim down its assets to focus on streaming and enhance its core entertainment portfolio. They recently sold book publisher Simon & Schuster for $1.62 billion and have previously sold CNET, their New York BlackRock headquarters, and Studio City lot.
