Annette Bening, the newly appointed chair of the board of the Entertainment Community Fund (ECF), is using her platform to support workers in the entertainment industry during the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. The ECF, formerly known as the Actors Fund, has distributed over $4 million to 2,000 film and TV workers through its work stoppage fund. The organization has also raised over $7 million from donors, including Bening, Steven Spielberg, and Kate Capshaw, to provide financial aid for living expenses. Bening is focused on raising awareness about the ECF’s work and inviting people to support their cause.
