This year’s Humanitas Prizes for screenwriting were announced via the Los Angeles Times to show solidarity with striking unions. The Humanitas organization honored the striking Writers Guild of America with its “Voice for Change” award. The winners included Craig Mazin for “The Last of Us” in the drama television category, Amy Sherman-Palladino for “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” in the comedy category, and Tyler Perry’s “A Jazzman’s Blues” in the drama film category. Other winners included Guillermo Del Toro’s “Pinocchio,” the Anne Frank limited series “A Small Light,” and Ondi Timoner’s documentary “Last Flight Home.”
