Three years ago, Apple agreed to pay settlement payments to owners of certain older iPhones in a class-action lawsuit regarding the “Batterygate” controversy. The final obstacle was cleared when two iPhone owners’ appeal against the settlement was dismissed by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. It is estimated that claimants could receive as much as $65 for their troubles. Apple has never explicitly admitted wrongdoing but agreed to pay out between $310 million and $500 million. Those who registered before the deadline three years ago may receive a check.
