The all-in-one computer, which combines a monitor, CPU, storage, and speakers into a single package, was pioneered by Hewlett-Packard in the 1970s and later popularized by Apple with the release of the iMac in 1998. The iMac has since become one of the most popular desktop computer lines, evolving from bulky CRT displays to sleek designs with Intel processors and now Apple Silicon. However, interest in all-in-ones may be shifting as Apple’s laptops offer similar performance and the demand for computers has decreased. Nonetheless, the iMac continues to evolve and remains a core product for Apple.
