The developers of eight television technologies will be honored with Emmys during The Television Academy’s Engineering, Science & Technology Emmy Awards on Oct. 18. Birney Dayton, a TV tech pioneer and co-founder of broadcast tech firm NVISION, will receive the Charles F. Jenkins Lifetime Achievement Award, while the Philo T. Farnsworth Corporate Achievement Award will go to the National Association of Broadcasters trade group. The awards will recognize advancements such as LED video processors for virtual production, motion systems for augmented reality, content identification standardization, high dynamic range TV, mobile cinematography app, wireless intercom, monitor platform, and noise-reduction plugin.
