Nonprofits Accountable Tech, AI Now, and the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) have introduced a framework called Zero Trust AI Governance, which aims to limit the power of big AI companies on regulation while expanding government agency authority against certain uses of generative AI. The framework emphasizes enforcing existing laws, implementing clear rules, and placing the burden of proof on companies to demonstrate that AI systems are not harmful. The group sent the framework to US politicians and government agencies, urging them to consider it in crafting new AI regulations. They also propose redefining digital shielding laws, implementing bright-line rules, and limiting the influence of big tech companies in the AI ecosystem. Related Keywords: AI regulation, Zero Trust AI Governance, generative AI
