Some major US airport terminals, such as JFK, are now offering food delivery to travelers’ gates. The airport food management company OTG is transitioning from using iPads to taking orders on travelers’ own devices. By scanning QR codes at venues, travelers can select and pay for their desired food using options like Apple Pay and credit cards, and have it delivered to their gate. OTG plans to implement their in-house ordering system, Flo, next month, simplifying operations and saving costs. The order-ahead options will be available in September, allowing travelers to order items for pickup at their destination airport.
