Japanese filmmaker Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s upcoming drama “Evil Does Not Exist” has secured North American distribution through Sideshow and Janus Films. The film, set to world premiere at the Venice Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival, follows the story of Takumi and his daughter Hana, whose lives are disrupted by a glamping site construction project. “Evil Does Not Exist” reunites Hamaguchi with the team behind his Oscar-winning film “Drive My Car.” The acquisition marks a collaboration between Sideshow, Janus Films, and the acclaimed director once again.
