Virgin Galactic is set to launch its first private passenger flight from its Spaceport America facility, with the possibility of hitting another milestone. Three passengers will be on board, including Jon Goodwin, the company’s first paying customer who purchased his ticket back in 2005. The other two passengers are Keisha Schahaff and Anastatia Mayers, a mother-daughter tandem who won their seats through a fundraising draw. The spacecraft, VSS Unity, will detach from the carrier aircraft at 50,000 feet and continue its journey to the edge of space, giving passengers three minutes of weightlessness. The launch will be livestreamed on Virgin Galactic’s website.
