Bethesda has collaborated with id Software to update the 1997 first-person shooter, Quake II. The enhanced edition is now available on various platforms including PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. The upgraded version features improved visuals, widescreen support, 120Hz refresh rates, and 4K resolution. Additionally, the original expansions, Mission Pack: The Reckoning and Mission Pack: Ground Zero, are included, offering extra single-player levels and deathmatch maps. A new expansion called Call of the Machine has been introduced, providing 28 campaign levels and a fresh deathmatch map. The multiplayer mode supports splitscreen, local and online co-op for up to four players, and crossplay with controller use. Accessible options, such as high contrast settings and voice chat transcription, have also been included.
