Dr. Frank Field, a longtime meteorologist and health reporter at NBC’s New York affiliate WNBC-TV, has passed away at the age of 100. Field spent 25 years of his career at WNBC and gained national attention for his appearances on “The Tonight Show” with Johnny Carson. He also utilized his medical background to cover health and science reporting. After leaving WNBC, he joined WCBS and ended his television career at WWOR. Field’s post-TV career focused on fire safety advocacy. He is survived by his three children, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
