Another day, another problem on Elon Musk’s Twitter. Musk announced “temporary limits” on the number of tweets users can view in a day, citing extreme data scraping and system manipulation as reasons. Twitter began blocking non-logged in visitors from viewing the site, in what Musk called a temporary emergency measure to prevent data pillaging. However, Twitter’s former head of trust and safety, Yoel Roth, questioned the reasoning behind the rate limits, suggesting it may not be due to data scraping. It was also revealed that a Twitter bug may have contributed to the issue by causing an infinite loop of requests. To bypass the rate limit, users can log into their accounts on Tweetdeck.
