Apple’s forthcoming Vision Pro headset will utilize hand-tracking and eye-tracking for control. During the early stages of development, Apple experimented with third-party virtual reality controllers before considering a finger-worn input device. However, the company ultimately decided that eye-tracking and hand motions provided a more elegant solution. When Nilay Patel tested the headset, he praised the solid eye tracking and the ability to make selections with subtle hand movements. The Vision Pro eliminates the need for waving or pointing gestures.
