Photo Courtesy of Bangkok Post: The Thai Foreign Affairs Ministry has denied allegations of embassy neglect made by a former employee, Rattanaporn Saeng-on, who lost her eyesight. Rattanaporn claims she was abandoned by the embassy and not given proper compensation. The ministry’s spokesperson stated that Rattanaporn’s eye condition pre-dated her employment and that she had received some compensation. Rattanaporn appealed for further financial support, but her request was rejected due to lack of evidence. She alleges that her loss of sight was a result of the ambassador’s failure to provide necessary medical treatment. Rattanaporn is seeking compensation for her irreversible loss.
