Thailand’s Pollution Control Department is launching the second phase of its Action Plan on Plastic Waste Management on International Plastic Bag Free Day, aiming to reduce single-use plastic bags going to landfills by 100% by 2027 and increase recycling to 100% in the same period. The plan also aims to cut plastic bag waste in oceans by 50% by 2070 and introduce 10 tools for plastic waste management. In the first phase, 90 companies reduced the use of plastic bags by 14.35 billion. Thailand is committed to phasing out single-use plastic bags and promoting recycling.
