Photo by Bangkok Post. Thailand’s Interior Ministry has introduced a new mobile application called ‘ThaID’ as part of its digital ID program. The app aims to digitize government services and make them more accessible to citizens. Caretaker Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha endorsed the app, highlighting its role in streamlining the use of state services and supporting the Thailand 4.0 strategy. The app has already gained over 3.5 million users since its launch in May, with support from 50 state agencies and 24 private agencies. The digital ID program, utilizing biometric data and face verification, reduces paperwork and enhances efficiency.
