Mom Chao (MC) Chulcherm Yugala, a staunch royalist, has apologized to Ajcharaporn Kongyot, a Thai national team volleyball player, for criticizing her use of the three-finger gesture during a game in Brazil. The gesture, popularized by “The Hunger Games,” is often seen as a sign of protest. Chulcherm questioned Ajcharaporn’s intentions, but her teammates clarified that the gesture is commonly used in volleyball to indicate three hitters on the front line. The Volleyball Association of Thailand supported Ajcharaporn, stating that the gesture was not political and that the team remains loyal to the Nation, Religion, and Monarchy.
