Middlebury College in Vermont and Trinity College in Connecticut have confirmed data breaches as a result of a security incident at TIAA, a nonprofit organization providing financial services. TIAA was affected by hackers exploiting a flaw in MOVEit Transfer, an enterprise file transfer tool. TIAA stated that no information was obtained from its systems and that it observed no unusual activity involving TIAA accounts. The mass-hack has affected over 160 victims, including the US Department of Health and Human Services and Siemens Energy. Trinity College shared student employee data with TIAA, which may have been impacted. Middlebury College also had data exposed due to the cyberattack.
