Over the course of 33 years, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood redefined what children’s television could accomplish. With the help of supporting cast and crew members, the show inspired countless children and adults to love themselves and be curious about the world. One guest director in the show’s early years, George A. Romero, went on to become a legendary filmmaker in the horror genre. Romero directed several segments for the show, including one titled “Mister Rogers Gets a Tonsillectomy,” which showcased his early talent as a director and subtly foreshadowed his future in horror.
