In a month full of blockbuster releases, Prisoner’s Daughter, starring Brian Cox and Kate Beckinsale, aims to be a small-scale drama about second chances and toxic patterns. However, the movie falls short due to a stiff and contradictory script. The story follows Max, a former mob enforcer who is diagnosed with terminal cancer and is given the opportunity to spend his last few months on house arrest with his estranged daughter, Maxine. The film attempts to explore themes of redemption and breaking cycles of violence, but ultimately fails to deliver a cohesive and engaging story. Despite solid performances, the lackluster script hinders the cast’s efforts. {“keywords”:”Prisoner’s Daughter, drama, second chances”}
