The 57th edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival will showcase a range of outlandish and bizarre films, including Sisu, a survivalist action film set in Finland; In My Mother’s Skin, a combination of horror and war movies set in the Philippines; Captain Faggotron Saves the Universe, a queer comedy about aliens planning to turn Earth into a homosexual planet; Smiling Georgia, a Georgian political and social documentary; Citizen Saint, a satirical parable about a saint living among mortals; and A Sensitive Person, a darkly grotesque drama. The festival runs from June 30 to July 8 in the Czech spa town.
