Hundreds of A-list actors, including Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, have signed a letter calling on their union leaders to make a “transformative” deal with studios and streamers. They expressed their willingness to strike if an agreement is not reached. The letter, organized by Amy Schumer, Paul Scheer, and Paul Downs, urges changes to minimum rates, streaming residuals, and exclusivity provisions. SAG-AFTRA members have authorized a strike if talks go downhill once the contracts expire on June 30. The goal of the negotiations is to provide all members with more sustainable livelihoods.
