Polestar, the EV brand affiliated with Volvo, has announced that it will adopt Tesla’s NACS connector for its vehicles in North America. The move will allow Polestar drivers to access Tesla’s Supercharger network, significantly increasing the availability of charging stations. The transition to NACS will be facilitated through CCS-to-NACS adapters for existing cars in mid-2024, with cars released from 2025 onwards having the standard built-in. This decision aligns Polestar with other automakers like Ford, GM, and Rivian who have also chosen to use Tesla’s charging technology. The move reflects the growing importance of access to charging networks in the EV market.
