Picture courtesy of Wikipedia: In Ningxia Hui, a self-governing district in northwest China, public security forces have successfully cracked down on a tomb-raiding gang. The gang had exhumed hundreds of kilograms of ancient coins dating back to the Song Dynasty. Three suspects involved in the transaction of these coins were apprehended, with over 300 kilograms of ancient coins valued at over 500,000 yuan (equivalent to around 2.44 million baht or US$68,445) seized. This is part of China’s ongoing efforts to combat the illicit trade of antique artifacts. China is dedicated to preserving its history and cracking down on grave-robbing and antique smuggling operations.
