Nintendo has a reputation for lacking in online infrastructure and not adopting latest technologies or features. However, there may be hope for improvement with the next console. Nintendo’s President and CEO, Shuntaro Furukawa, expressed the company’s intention to make it easier for customers to transition their Nintendo Switch purchases to future consoles. While it is not clear if this means current titles will be carried over, it suggests that Nintendo is considering the possibility. Unlike Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo has previously not allowed previous-generation games to work on new consoles. It is hoped that Nintendo will address these limitations and allow gamers to carry over their existing game library.
