In 1979, Ridley Scott’s film Alien revolutionized the sci-fi genre by combining horror, an action hero final girl portrayed by Sigourney Weaver, and a terrifying extraterrestrial creature. The film’s success led to a franchise that remains popular today. With numerous entries from directors including James Cameron and David Fincher, the franchise has expanded to seven titles, plus additional crossover films. Fede Álvarez’s recent installment, Alien: Romulus, has reignited interest, making all series films available for streaming on HBO Max starting April 1, alongside prequels Prometheus and Covenant. Romulus will also join HBO Max on April 3.
