A drunk monk disguised in a wig was arrested at a checkpoint in Surin for drink-driving with a woman passenger and a handgun found in the pickup. The monk, identified as Suphawat, was charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition without permission. Further search revealed cash and monastic items in the vehicle. The woman passenger claimed the gun belonged to the monk. The suspects were handed to investigators for legal proceedings.
