“Outer Range,” a Prime Video series created by Brian Watkins, is a unique blend of neo-Western and sci-fi drama. Following rancher Royal Abbott (Josh Brolin), the story begins with a mysterious black hole on his Wyoming land coinciding with family turmoil. As the Abbott family’s struggles deepen alongside time travel and dark family secrets, they face psychological and supernatural challenges. Despite its intriguing premise and engaging character dynamics, the show was sadly canceled after two seasons, leaving many questions unanswered. Nevertheless, “Outer Range” deserves recognition for its bold storytelling and compelling exploration of genre.
