Koh Chang police arrested an Italian man for drug use after a violent argument with his Thai wife. The man, Giovanni Leano Candido, was found to be under the influence of drugs and tested positive for methamphetamine. He confessed to buying the drugs on the island. Candido was charged with using and possessing a Category 1 narcotic, facing up to one year in prison or a fine. In a similar case, three foreigners were arrested on Koh Pha Ngan for drug-related activities. Earlier, a British national was arrested in Bangkok for distributing cocaine to tourists.
