Travellers heading to Koh Samui and Koh Pha Ngan now face higher ferry fares due to a sharp hike in fuel prices in Thailand. Seatran Ferry, operating between Surat Thani and the islands, increased ticket prices by 10 baht on March 14. After a further rise in fuel prices on March 26, fares went up by another 30 baht. Passengers now pay 210 baht to Koh Samui and 280 baht to Koh Pha Ngan. Vehicle transport fees also increased. The rising costs have impacted delivery drivers and led to fuel shortages in Surat Thani.
