Jason Statham faced a box office setback with his recent film, Shelter, but it has gained traction on PVOD platforms. Interestingly, it parallels his 2012 film Safe, which has also seen increased viewership on Tubi. Safe, produced by Chad Stahelski and David Leitch, features Statham as an ex-cop protecting a gifted girl from gangsters, and similarly underperformed at the box office. While Shelter drew disappointing numbers, Safe grossed $40 million worldwide. Statham is set to collaborate with Guy Ritchie for Viva La Madness and will appear in upcoming films, Mutiny and The Beekeeper 2.
