A rescue operation is currently underway in the Atlantic Ocean to locate a submersible vessel carrying five people who were documenting the wreckage of the Titanic. The vessel was reported overdue and lost contact with its support vessel on Sunday. The search effort, led by the U.S. Coast Guard, is being assisted by Canadian authorities. Additional resources are expected to arrive in the coming days. The submersible, operated by OceanGate Expeditions, has a 96-hour oxygen supply and efforts are being made to reach the site with a remotely operated vehicle. The focus is on locating and rescuing the crew.
