Serial petitioner Ruangkrai Leekitwattana has asked the Election Commission (EC) to seek the Constitutional Court’s ruling on whether Move Forward party leader Pita Limjaroenrat is eligible to be an MP. Citing Section 98 and Section 82 of the Constitution, Ruangkrai argues that there may be doubt about Pita’s qualification due to his stakes in a media company. Pita reportedly owned shares in iTV at the time of the election, but has since transferred them to other heirs. If the Constitutional Court accepts the case, Pita may be required to stop performing as an MP until a ruling is issued.
