BANGKOK, Sept 4 (TNA) – The Immigration Bureau is making preparations to introduce the government’s flagship “Thailand Plus” visa scheme next month. The visa will initially be offered to long-stay tourists from the US, UK, Germany, France, Canada, and Japan. It aims to promote long-term stays in Thailand and boost its economy, which has been severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The visa offers a renewable stay of up to nine months and will require applicants to comply with health and travel insurance requirements. The government hopes this initiative will attract more foreign visitors and stimulate the tourism sector.
