About 30 police officers, who were hired by YouTuber “My Mate Nate”, may face disciplinary action for participating in a staged pursuit without prior permission from their superiors. The 22-minute clip, posted on June 17th, showed the staged chase involving about 50 “police officers” and received over 1.5 million views. The national police chief has ordered an investigation into the incident, which must be completed within seven days. The YouTuber and his staff have given statements to the police but no charges have been filed yet. The YouTuber could face charges if civilians were involved and wore police uniforms without permission.
