Taiwan has suspended flights, rail transport, ferry services, and classes as the island prepares for the arrival of Typhoon Haikui. The storm comes as Typhoon Saola weakens along the Chinese coast, with movements to ensure safety for over 900,000 people and 80,000 fishing vessels. Hong Kong and parts of the coastal mainland have closed down businesses, transport, and schools. However, damage seems minimal, and restrictions have been lifted. Taiwan has already experienced heavy rain and high winds from Haikui, resulting in flight cancellations and the closure of outdoor events. China is also conducting military operations near Taiwan.
