Villagers near Thailand’s Bang Lang National Park in Yala province have been warned to stay away from their farms after tiger footprints were discovered. A team of veterinarians and park officials has been dispatched to assess the situation, but it remains unclear why the tiger has ventured out of its habitat. The park covers over 26,000 hectares of mostly pristine forest and is rich in wildlife. Park officials estimate the male tiger weighs around 200kg and have urged caution for nearby villagers. Camera traps previously captured images of two tigers in the area.
